Payment confirmed at booking
Cat parents pay through mraav with Stripe at the moment they book, not after the sit, so by the time you do the meet and greet, the booking is already paid for. No invoicing, no chasing payment after the fact.
Trust & safety for sitters
Sitting cats in someone else’s home is a leap of trust. Here’s what we promise to do for you, in plain language, every booking. No fine print, no exceptions.
Cat parents pay through mraav with Stripe at the moment they book, not after the sit, so by the time you do the meet and greet, the booking is already paid for. No invoicing, no chasing payment after the fact.
After a parent sends a booking request, you do a free meet and greet, in person or over video, whichever you prefer. You meet the cat, talk through the routine, and decide if it’s a fit before you confirm the sit. If it’s not a match, decline, and the parent is refunded in full. No awkwardness.
The booking, the schedule, the visit log, and your conversation with the cat parent all live inside mraav. One place to look back if you ever need to, no scrolling through five different apps to find what was agreed.
Cat parents pay through mraav at booking, and your earnings are released about 24 hours after the booking ends, then head to your bank automatically. No invoices, no chasing, no waiting a week like most apps. Need it sooner? Cash out instantly to an eligible debit card for a 1.5% fee.
Your rates, your service area, your availability, your cancellation policy. mraav is a marketplace, not a manager. We don’t second-guess your prices or push your schedule around.
Email hello@mraav.com and a human in the San Francisco Bay Area gets back to you within one business day. If something goes sideways during a sit, we are reachable.
Good to know
mraav is a marketplace. You are an independent sitter, not an employee. You set your own rates, schedule, and cancellation policies, and you are responsible for your own taxes.
Because you’re independent, carrying your own insurance is your responsibility, and mraav doesn’t insure sitters. Bookings are backed by the Mraav Pledge for cat parents, which pays as backup after other insurance; if a claim is approved, the deductible is the sitter’s responsibility.
You and the cat parent both leave reviews after a sit. We do not hide either side, and you can respond to a review you disagree with. We step in if a review crosses the line into harassment or false claims.
For the full picture (liability, fees, how a marketplace like ours works), our Terms of Service cover it. Worth a read before your first booking.
