Applications are opening soon in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here is exactly how the process will work, so you know what to expect and cat parents can see how we vet who shows up at their door.
The process
Every sitter on mraav clears the same path. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
Tell us about your cat experience, why you want to sit, and provide two references we can call. The form takes about ten minutes. We read every application ourselves.
If your application looks like a fit, we run a government-ID check and a third-party background check, and we call your references. Standard for the industry, non-negotiable for us.
A video call with our team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cat-specific questions, a few scenarios, and your chance to ask anything about how the platform works. It is a two-way fit check.
You set your rates, your service area, and your availability. Your profile goes live for cat parents in your zip codes, and you start taking bookings on your terms.
Once you are live
You set your own rates, service area, schedule, and cancellation policy. Once Stripe Connect goes live, cat parents will pay through mraav at booking and Stripe will send your earnings straight to your bank account within 24 hours of the booking ending, no waiting a week to get paid like on most other apps. While we’re wiring that up, parents pay you directly via PayPal or Venmo as soon as they confirm.
Every booking starts with a free meet and greet at the cat parent’s home. You get to meet the cat, see the space, and decide if it is a fit before anyone commits to a multi-day sit.
During visits, you log a few quick observations (eating, energy, mood) and our AI drafts a warm, honest update for the cat parent. You can send it as is or edit it first, whichever feels right for the visit.
A real person on our team reads every email to hello@mraav.com. If something goes sideways during a sit, we are reachable.
When does it open?
