Your card is charged the moment you submit a booking, and mraav holds the money securely through Stripe. Your sitter hasn’t been paid yet.
If the sitter can’t take the booking, you’re refunded the full amount automatically. No back and forth, no waiting on a request.
About 24 hours after the last visit, the money you already paid moves along to your sitter. That day in between is yours: time to get home, see your cat settled, and tell us if anything didn’t go the way it should.
Our service fee and card processing are already included in the price you see, so your total is the total, with nothing added later at checkout. Your sitter keeps their full rate. See the full breakdown.
What it costs
Sitters set their own rates, so what you pay depends on the one you pick. These are all-in prices, the same ones you’ll see on each sitter’s profile, which is why nothing gets added at checkout.

Cancellations
Each sitter picks one of four cancellation policies, shown on their profile and at checkout. If you cancel, your refund depends on their policy and how far ahead you cancel. The non-refunded part goes to your sitter for holding the dates.
If a sitter declines your request or cancels a confirmed booking, you get a 100% refund regardless of the cancellation policy. The policy only applies to cancellations you start.
Once your visits are done, you can add an optional tip from your bookings page. Tips go 100% to your sitter, and mraav takes no service fee on them.
