About Zuri
Cat specialist · Piedmont, CA
I am a full-time house and pet sitter, providing structured in-home care for cats while maintaining a stable and reliable presence in the home. I take genuine interest in each cat’s individual temperament, environment, and comfort needs, with a focus on calm, consistent care that supports emotional stability and predictable routines. I am frequently sought out for shy, senior, and/or sensitive cats who benefit from low-contact care and structured routines. I also provide care for social cats when their needs align with a balanced level of interaction. Care is delivered in a structured and attentive manner, including feeding, litter maintenance, enrichment, play, and oral medication when it can be administered safely and with cooperation. I do not force interaction, handling, or engagement, and cats are always allowed to initiate contact on their own terms. Because I work remotely, I maintain a consistent in-home presence throughout the day, balancing focused work periods with routine check-ins, supervision, and companionship as part of daily care. I am not a fit for: Cats requiring physical force-based handling, training, or behavior modification Highly dependent (Velcro) cats requiring constant proximity, attention, touch, or stimulation Aggressive behavior toward humans or animals, including biting, scratching, lunging, or persistent hissing Outdoor cats that do not reliably return home daily or require searching, neighborhood coordination, or location tracking Co-sleeping arrangements (pets must sleep independently outside the bedroom) Homes requiring daily intensive cleaning or unmanaged environmental conditions beyond routine pet-related spot cleaning Frequent last-minute changes or unpredictable care expectations Home Care Scope: General spot cleaning related to pet care is included, such as litter maintenance, food spills, and one-off pet-related messes during a sit. Light household tasks related to the sit may be accommodated when reasonable and clearly communicated in advance, such as bringing in mail or packages and occasional plant watering. These tasks remain minimal and secondary to pet care responsibilities. Other scheduled home service providers such as gardeners, pool maintenance, housekeepers, or maintenance technicians are welcome to continue their regular visits during a sit, and home maintenance issues (repairs, plumbing, appliances, etc.) should be handled by the appropriate service providers. Routine household upkeep outside of pet-related care is not included. This includes deep cleaning, cleaning pre-existing household messes, or ongoing household cleaning tasks beyond standard pet-related spot cleaning. I do not remove or manage accumulated household trash from before the start of the sit, and any pre-existing cleaning should be addressed prior to my arrival or arranged through appropriate services. I work best in homes that are well prepared for an in home stay, including a clean, organized environment with fresh linens, minimal excess pet hair, and an air purifier when available. Veterinary & Emergency Policy: In the event of any observable illness, injury, or concerning behavior, I will report it immediately to the owner and/or designated emergency contact with clear, factual observations. All medical decisions remain the responsibility of the owner or designated emergency contact. I do not diagnose conditions or determine the need for veterinary intervention. I do not administer, adjust, or modify medications outside of prior written instructions from the owner or veterinarian. I do not pay for veterinary care or offer reimbursements. All veterinary arrangements must be pre-established by the owner. If a veterinary visit occurs, continuation of care depends on whether it remains within the agreed scope. If it exceeds scope, alternative arrangements may be required. Throughout any situation, the pet will remain supervised until the appropriate contact assumes responsibility. Care Philosophy: Calm, structured, and consistent in home care focused on emotional safety, routine stability, and clear communication. Well organized, clutter free homes with predictable routines create the best environment for both pets and sitter. Booking Requirement: A video consultation (Zoom or Google Meet) is required before confirming a booking to ensure mutual fit. In-person walkthroughs are conducted only after a booking is confirmed.
